The Lord's Taverners in cricket live brand experience
Date: 17/06/2010
A sports charity is set to stage a 60-hour cricket match as part of a major fund-raising live brand experience.
The Lord's Taverners, which gives young people with learning difficulties the chance to participate in sporting activities, will host the live brand experience event at Wellington College in Berkshire.
Running from 08:00 BST on Saturday July 17th until 20:00 BST on Monday July 19th, the charity hopes to break the British record for the longest continuous cricket match.
The organisation is hoping to raise £25,000 with the event.
As well as the cricket game, Wellington College will play host to food-stalls, a beer tent and various forms of children's entertainment.
A number of celebrities - including Who Wants to be a Millionaire host Chris Tarrant and several members of Surrey Cricket Club - will be taking part in the charity drive.
In its 60th year, The Lord's Taverners is hoping to raise £500,000 through various charity events before 2011.
