Staff from all departments should be united with effective corporate team building events, it has been claimed.
According to Management Today, team building activities should be a core aspect of any firm's business strategy and they should be used to encourage staff to work towards a common objective.
"This means that the finance team, along with the marketing team and the IT team need to share ownership of, and responsibility for, the delivery of the [corporate team building events] strategy," the website said.
"Creating a team which is motivated to deliver not only their own department's results, but those of their fellow colleagues is enormously energising for a business," it added.
The website suggests a good starting point for firms developing a leadership and motivation framework is active listening - which in itself can boost employee motivation.
Meanwhile, recent research from the Aberdeen Group has shown that leadership and motivation programmes need to be sustainable if they are to be effective at boosting staff morale.
