A business may run into a few problems when motivating employees if they do not harness the power of team building during their drive for improvement, according to an expert.
Writing for major health publication Advance, Paula Lawlor, the vice-president of Diskriter in Pittsburgh, stated that team building is the key to performance and that groups should always celebrate single successes.
Team building events are particularly important in the current climate, according to the expert, who said that it was always possible to slip in a motivational talk at some point without detracting too much from other issues.
Furthermore, communication is a top priority for the workplace, with Ms Lawlor highlighting the personal issues which many people may enjoy from a boss telling them straight about a major issue.
In conclusion, she emphasised the importance of celebrating achievements as a team, as it is this that improves workplace dynamics while developing the independence of team members.
Last week, the Beacon Group found through research that many employees overestimated their abilities in the office, perhaps highlighting the need for employers to improve performance through team building.
