A group of teens from Sunderland have completed a recruitment training course that included a number of team building activities.
The course involved working for a number of Wearside companies and organisations, including the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service Prince's Trust team, reports the Sunderland Echo.
In addition to the soft skills often learned at team building events and conferences, the course offers participants some actual qualifications and hard skills such as CV writing.
Speaking to the newspaper, 18-year-old Marc Boyle explained that the qualification had provided him with incentives and recognition.
He said: "Getting this qualification has really helped me build up my skills in communicating and team building.
"I've learned how to work better as a team and get on with people better than I thought I ever could."
In an article for ThomasNet last month, David Butcher explained that team building exercises could be key to maintaining morale following staff lay-offs in the current economic climate.
