Team building corporate events should 'always be welcome'
Date: 08/03/2010
Businesses hoping to harness the potential of team building corporate events ought to ensure that their ideas are not made too serious for the sake of meeting certain specifications, as fun things tend to be more successful, it has been reported.
Gianni Zammit of the Times of Malta said that events such as treasure hunts and adventure activities have a team building element and "must not be pigeon-holed as solely social activities".
He cited how a German company confirmed that a quick drink at the local pub after the working day every last Friday of the month meant that staff took less sick leave and the team had a much improved working atmosphere, as well as higher levels of employee reliability and trust.
Mr Zammit added: "A successful team-building exercise should leave participants with a sense of motivation, wanting to perform better at the workplace and with a better understanding of existing team dynamics and behaviours."
In recent conference news, ExCeL London recently confirmed that they did £6 million in conference business, proving the popularity of the capital-based location.
