Team building corporate events 'must have good prior management'

Date: 10/03/2010

Organisations looking to carry out a team building corporate event in the near future must consider the ramifications of selecting the event before simply carrying it out, according to a new study.

Gianni Zammit of the Times of Malta said that team-building activities must be primarily designed to improve performance, alongside establishing strengths and weaknesses within teams through exercises and games.

These activities, he explained, must allow the group dynamics to be recognised and put into practice at a later date, so choosing the activities in question analysis "is equally important as the actual activity" - highlighting the need to consult corporate events management.

He continued: "The manager needs to pinpoint and evaluate certain criteria before diving in and deciding on the activities required. The activities selected should reflect these criteria and be able to tackle and help solve the issues raised."

The latest Randstad Work Watch discovered that businesses may want to use team building corporate events to foster friendships as this boosts morale in an office.
