Team building corporate events 'great with health links'

Date: 23/02/2010

Healthy activities carried out through team building corporate event initiatives should be encouraged if a business is to keep its head above the waterline, according to a new report.

In the study for the News-Herald, it was concluded that companies are especially concerned following them being subject to tightened budgets and layoffs, though this should be no barrier to organisations looking to escape the dearth of good news.

Commenting on a popular combination regime of running, biking, walking and jogging at her own company, Krista Toutant, sales and marketing coordinator for Rhein Chemie Corp said that a renewed focus on such initiatives will naturally cheer employees up and allow them to appreciate each other.

She told the newspaper: "Employees get together in groups and they can go out together after work or at lunch and walk up and down Park Court here. It's good because it gets them to interact with each other."

Getting people from all levels of a company involved in the team building corporate event will only make it more successful, it was added.

In recent conference news, it was revealed that Bluewater Shopping Centre is developing a £60 million event venue at its location in Kent.
