Team building corporate event calls in the Marines

Date: 21/05/2010

Some tough team building activities are on the cards for the staff of umi hotels in London this weekend, when a former Royal Marine will put employees through gruelling physical exercises in Hyde Park.

Although the session will certainly have its fun side, umi hotels hopes to improve the health of its employees and foster staff cohesion as a result of the corporate team building event.

A spokesperson for the hotel chain said the Royal Marine, Rob Suchet, will show staff that staying healthy does not have to be difficult and hopes workers realise the long-term benefits of regular exercise.

"I think it is important for employers to look after their staff and guide them in looking after themselves where possible, particularly in the demanding world of hospitality," commented the spokesperson.

The Japanese-themed brand last month launched a new seafront restaurant called umi grill in Brighton, which adjoins its hotel in the city.
