Sometimes, it is not the changes in a company that cause difficulty among workers, it is the way they react to them, and one expert believes this must be well-managed through team building corporate events.
Michael D Watkins, the author of Your Next Move, explained on the platform provided by CNBC that managers need to hold team building conferences on a regular basis during the downturn, otherwise major issues simply will not be addressed.
He explained that it is the easiest way to kill any malicious rumours developing around the workplace, or sustain any that may bring good news.
Furthermore, Mr Watkins believes it relaxes workers who may otherwise overreact to any changes in the office.
"Transition brings out the manic depressive in many people," he continued. "They are up, they are down, they are all around. It's your job to stay calm and to try to talk people off the ledge."
It follows comments from Sian Thomas, the director of NHS Employers, who underlined the importance of aiming to develop staff and not simply fire them, as the latter can impact on remaining staff motivation.
