Team building activities to raise cash for charity
Date: 22/06/2010
Sue Ryder Care is encouraging corporate team building activities with a new charity investment drive.
Businesses and individuals are being encouraged to get together and create entrepreneurial team building activities that will raise money for Sue Ryder Care.
The charity is offering £50 to anyone who believes they can make a profit by investing the cash.
Sue Ryder Big Wigs Challenge was launched at The Griffin pub in Caversham. It follows on from a similar campaign held last year, which saw £6,000 raised for the charity.
Geraldine Harmon, business development manager at Sue Ryder Care, said: "We give teams from companies and individuals a £50 note and they go off over four months and try to raise as much as possible out of that £50.
"It's really good for team building. A lot of big companies are doing it as part of their [usual team building activities]."
According to corporate team building events expert Al Lock, leadership and motivation activities can boost cross-departmental understanding, reports the Bangkok Post.
