Team building exercises are one of the best ways to keep a workforce creative, according to a staff motivation expert.
Although primarily referring to the effects of motivating employees in design studios through team building, Digital Arts Online highlighted the importance of keeping spirits high through seminars, working lunches discussions and exhibitions which may be relevant to work but also to personal growth.
Keeping things out in the open is also more conducive to team building, the website continued, noting that whispered conversations and office in-fighting may develop out of nothing.
It added: "This only gives the impression that something bad is happening, and employees are likely to add suspicions up and come to their own conclusion. Instead, you need to control the message and update staff clearly, quickly and honestly."
According to training and development specialist and author Shirley Fine Lee, another way to motivate people is to make rewards proportional to the achievement, making the team drive for bigger goals.
