The team building conference and live brand experience opportunities in Manchester have again been highlighted after the announcement of a major conference in the area next year.
Following its Congress 2009 at Liverpool's BT Convention Centre this week, which concludes tomorrow (Thursday September 17th), the Trades Union Congress to (TUC) today announced that it would be using Manchester Central as a base of operations, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Formerly known as the G-MEX, the location will allow for bids between hotels in the area including the Radisson and Hilton, as the team building conference - which is slated for September 13th to 16th 2010 - will attract around 4,000 delegates and create £2 million for the local economy.
Speaking to the newspaper, head of conference and business tourism for Marketing Manchester Catherine Walker said of the deal: "We have been working on bringing the TUC conference to Manchester for some years and it is a prestigious event to secure. We are already in talks with them for future years."
Today, it was revealed in the TUC 2009 Equality Audit that work-life balance guidance is the most requested equality issue, with 65 per cent of unions reporting it as an issue being addressed.
