Following a great performance during a Corporate Performance Assessment review recently, a council's staff are being awarded with an extra day of holiday for their efforts, it has been reported.
Over 4,000 workers are set to benefit from the reward and recognition put in place by leaders of Stockport council, which was recently declared a four-star council that continues to improve strongly, the Stockport Express wrote.
Speaking to the newspaper, councillor Dave Goddard said that Stockport has "been on a journey" over the last ten years when it came to performance, with this award to the council putting it in the top ten per cent of the country.
He continued: "Our staff deliver over 600 services, and I see no reason why they should not be rewarded for all their hard work."
Yesterday, Asda launched a recognition scheme of its own, aiming to improve morale and performance throughout its stores by setting out targets for each employee depending on their job.
