Without motivation, a business does not stand much of a chance when it comes to attaining a high level of performance, a pair of experts have expressed.
Sanjiv Anand and Amit Khare, writing for Gulf News, stated that leaders are now under an amazing amount of pressure to get the results they need, with the emphasis needing to be placed on people and not technology if they are to achieve this.
Communication is one of the main facets which must be maintained, they continued.
The pair explained: "Open, sincere and continuous communication with employees at all times is a must. Suggestions should be invited from employees for improvement areas.
"Also, the channels of communication should be open at all times, making it a real two-way communication."
Reward and recognition is a way to encourage this, Anand and Khare added, with employees needing to feel valued if they are to continue the good work - even if the prize is small.
Even simple thank yous can go a long way, according to authors of the Carrot Principle Chester Elton and Adrian Gostick, noting that efforts to motivate are relatively concurrent across the world.
