Staff 'need reassurance and good communication' in recession
Date: 02/02/2009
The current economic environment means managers need to maintain good communication and recognition schemes, it has been stated.
Lucy Davison, the associate director at financial operations recruitment consultancy Financial Search & Selection (FSS), stated that a lack of conversation between bosses and employees can work against any motivational programmes in place.
She emphasised that in times characterised by challenging trading, the entire workforce should be "fully aware of the current situation", adding that if redundancies are to be made, the manager delivers the message.
Ms Davison continued: "As soon as there is a lack of communication, this is when Chinese whispers often begin and that can massively affect morale."
People may be able to avoid many problems associated with the credit squeeze by investing in a reward and recognition scheme with a corporate event planner.
The FSS was established in 1982 and provides its expertise through accountants to assist in all levels of the banking industry.
