Businesses that take pride in saying thank you to employees who work hard as part of an incentives and recognition scheme are much more likely to succeed with plans than those who do not, it is firmly stated.
Brooke Blew of the Mainstreet Exchange argued that if any time was important to carry out such an action, it was now.
She asserted: "Now, with the new year upon us, it's more important than ever to boost employee morale - especially if there was no rockin' around the office Christmas tree this year."
It was noted that by taking time for a thank you, especially if it is done through a proper meeting, is a great way to bring people closer to the goal of the company.
Additionally, small presents for recognition, however small they are, are also very important to employees, Ms Blew added.
Last week, chair of ACAS Ed Sweeney called on businesses to consider incentives and recognition to ensure employee morale is high during 2010, as real success comes from within a company.
