The need to implement motivational tactics in the workplace is easily highlighted through a number of signs which can be found in employees with low morale, it has been said.
Eve Ash, a psychologist and the lead blogger of Smart Company, stated this week that signs of poorly-motivated staff boil down to very basic principles of work which must be followed if performance is going to be maintained at a high level.
Many may seem bored, for example, with Ms Ash highlighting the need for employers to encourage their ideas, consult the team or move them on to a more challenging task, if their skills are more present.
She also noted that many may be tired and have no energy, with this problem solved with a healthier working environment - the addition of fruit and a water machine may be a great way to motivate employees if this is the case.
Those who seem burned out are best approached with a team building ethic, as this feeling can regularly be passed on to others, Ms Ash added, with improved communication being key to improving overall performance.
This week, Dawn Hodes, a dessert business owner, told Canada.com that one of the best ways to get performance in the workplace to higher levels is to invest trust and respect in those working alongside a manager, adding that this brings about loyalty.
