School children also benefit from team building activities
Date: 07/06/2010
School children from Fairfield and Wade Deacon have shown that it is not just industry that can benefit from team building activities.
The recent leadership and motivation event, which lasted for two days, held for pupils at the two schools - which are set to merge - were led by older students from Riverside College.
Like corporate team building events, the initiative was aimed at boosting the relationships between children from each of the schools, as well as teaching them about the value of cooperation and communication, the Runcorn and Widnes World reported.
Howard Mealey, Wade Deacon team leader, told the news provider: "We are absolutely indebted to Riverside College who came with 40 of their public services students to deliver team-building sessions.
"All the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the challenges."
According to a recent report in the Express & Star, outdoor team building activities are an excellent motivator for staff as they can boost both morale and training programmes.
