Business expert and Virgin founder Richard Branson has claimed that delegation is one of the key skills that managers should hold dear, as it is a good way of motivation staff.
Speaking to Reuters, Mr Branson said: "One of the key skills I learned as a young businessman was the power of delegation.
"If I set [employees] challenges, keep encouraging them and create a dynamic environment, I find that people will always work hard."
He said that strong managers with an excellent capacity for leadership and motivation are also essential if a business is to grow and become successful.
Mr Branson also claimed that being able to listen and admit when someone else's ideas are better than your own is a strong skill to possess.
"[These skills have] helped me to attract and retain the excellent people on our team," he concluded.
Recently, technology giant Siemens announced that it was boosting employee motivation by offering its 16,000 UK staff members discounted gym membership.
