Ray-Bans come to life in Isle of Wight live brand experience

Date: 19/06/2009

One of the most famous manufacturers of sunglasses in the world carried out a live brand experience at the recent Isle of Wight Festival with great success, it has been revealed.

The Ray-Ban Rooms became a key destination for revellers at the music event, which ran between June 12th and 14th, incorporating a dance floor, live brand experience area and a green room alongside the much-used bar area.

On top of this, it also served as a venue, with Ray-Ban hosting such acts as The View, Esser, Maccabees and DJ sets from New Young Pony Club member Lou Hayter and from The Horrors.

Commenting on the experience, Ray-Ban brand manager Will Thompson said: "Isle of Wight is the perfect place for us to celebrate our heritage and engage with consumers in a way which really adds something to the festival experience and shows that we're not another brand trying to jump on the music bandwagon."

Ray-Ban produced its trademark Wayfarers back in 1952, with the design gaining particular prominence through Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany's.
