The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre's (QEIICC's) owners have spoken of its successful financial year, with the corporate event holder organising 384 meetings and events during the 12-month period.
Major improvements have been carried out on the building, which includes digital signs and flat-screen displays to help people keep in touch with their own event and other items of interest.
On top of this, a new electrical infrastructure has been introduced in order to make the building more technologically adept for the likes of corporate hospitality events, with the cost of improvements totalling £1.223 million.
However, turnover is up by 7.3 per cent to £11.5 million, seeing £4.5 million being paid back to the Exchequer.
In regards to future upgrades, chief executive of the QEIIICC Ernest Vincent said: "The process may take years and not months to complete. The centre will continue to operate successfully on the basis of making certain our clients receive first class service and excellent value for money."
The QEIICC has a plenary room which is able to hold 1,300 people, with over 2,000 sq metres of exhibition space on one floor.
