Passionate managers 'needed for motivational boost'

A company can only keep motivating employees if workers are energised by their superior, according to a sector specialist.
Suzanne Bates, president and chief executive officer of Bates Communications, a company which specialises in improving corporate communication techniques, said that both purpose and passion was needed from leaders wanting to bring energy to the workplace, reports MHT.
The expert explained that employees know what they want from a boss, indicating that they are in the job for something bigger than themselves, emphasising the role of a team building activity as part of a corporate event for leaders to enhance the working environment.
Ms Bates added that businesses "must communicate in a way that respects their [employees'] desire to make a difference".
She continued: "Leaders who connect people with company, message and strategy more easily accomplish their goals."
Don Clark, a communication specialist from Big Dog, Little Dog stated that many problems that can occur in a workplace revolve around a lack of discussion, with leaders recommended to overcome all barriers including culture, background and bias.
