According to a post on stockmarketsreview.com, companies which do not employ sales incentives risk damaging employee motivation, even though it is easy to recognise this and not necessarily experience.
The website explained that the best way to do this is by issuing things such as small trophies which do not cost much but can be highly valued by a member of staff.
It warned that organisations which give out cash rewards too freely can actually risk lowering the quality of the workforce's output.
"Companies that reward their employees for excellence on the other hand often see an increase in production by their employees," the source stated.
Recently, leadership and motivation news provider Helium noted that one sales incentive for boosting morale is having an employee of the month accolade for the person who has achieved the most.
