New venue proposed for Bristol by football club

Date: 05/11/2009

If plans by Bristol City FC are accepted in the coming weeks, team building conferences and corporate events could be heading to the city in greater numbers.

That is because the club has proposed the building of a 30,000-seater stadium in the city for the good of the football team as well as any businesses looking to host a team building corporate event or live brand experience in the proposed facilities.

There will be a number of hurdles which Bristol City FC bosses need to overcome in the next few months, though last night (November 4th), the Council Planning Committee agreed to a "minded to approve" decision in regards to the green belt, though with a number of reservations.

Speaking to the club's official website, chief executive of Bristol City Colin Sexstone said: "If the committee gives the planning green light, Bristol will take another major step to having the regional stadium that it deserves by 2012."

Bristol City's current ground, Ashton Gate, has been their home since 1904.
