NSPCC team building event challenges workers to HACK it

Date: 25/05/2010

Businesses have been told they can engage in a great corporate team building event while helping to support a worthy cause, after the NSPCC launched the Hike Against Cruelty to Kids (HACK).

The HACK is a challenging sponsored walk, lasting for 20 miles or more, that is due to take place in locations around the UK between June and September this year.

"Why not use the HACK to take part in a team building challenge and encourage your colleagues and friends to take part?" NSPCC community fundraising manager Joanna Winsborough asked About My Area.

Last year, HACKS around the country raised more than £236,000 for the NSPCC and the charity hopes that with more companies engaging in team building activities, it can beat that amount in 2010.

Hotel brand Umi recently implemented somewhat more punishing keep-fit team building event, which called in a Royal Marine to put employees through their paces, according to Personnel Today.
