Motivation 'boosted by flexible working'
Date: 18/01/2010
Allowing more people to work from home and giving them the correct amount of support through technology is a great way to boost morale in the workplace, according to an expert.
oneDrum.com's survey was reported this week by HR Magazine and concluded that additional flexible and remote working opportunities foster plenty of benefits for employers as employees could make major steps to improve competitive advantage through added resources.
"Working from home can enable staff to work more productively and efficiently, leaving room for employee creativity and strategic thinking - all essential catalysts for innovation," said Jasper Westaway, the chief executive officer and founder of oneDrum.
He added that businesses will improve bottom-line motivation through the initiative, so it may be worth conversing with staff over the prospect of flexible working in a team building conference.
In a recent piece for the Daily Journal of Commerce, Rich Meneghello said that employees are well aware of their rights to work in any environment and must be consulted and listened to if morale improves in the long run.
