Microsoft becomes latest firm to look into UK-wide experiential marketing
Date: 28/01/2010
Microsoft has announced to corporate events management companies in the UK that it is looking for an agency to pitch for a marketing strategy, to promote the Xbox and Xbox Live to a new audience, it has been reported.
New Media Age revealed that through the use of direct marketing, advertising and the correct manipulation of digital and social media channels, the selected company will gain a lot from the huge computing company.
Experiential marketing is completely central to the live brand experience, it was stated, as the organisation hopes to change perceptions about the brand and turn it from a gaming platform into an entertainment system.
Understood by New Media Age to be worth up to £1.5 million, the campaign will begin in earnest in July this year and run all the way through to September, hopefully cementing the place of the organisation as the perfect accompaniment to other technologies in the living room.
The Xbox 360 has recently been the platform of choice for the release of the long-awaited Mass Effect 2, a game which has received critical acclaim since its release in the US on Tuesday, though UK gamers will have to wait until tomorrow (January 29th) to get their hands on it.
