Manchester is 'cheapest corporate event venue'

The city of Manchester has been named the cheapest conference venue in the country following research by a specialist in the field.

People hoping to hire an events organiser may want to look to the north-west city as a place to host their team building exercise after it was found to be cheaper than London, Monte Carlo and Lisbon, Oxford International revealed.

Despite flights being more costly than people booking into the capital, accommodation, conference and transport costs were the cheapest, working out at roughly £972.01 per delegate all inclusive, with London costing £174.98 more for each individual attendee.

John Walker, the managing director of the organisation, stated that people wanting to travel abroad may not find massive differences in price, though money may be an issue.

He continued: "If however, budgets are an issue and your delegates are largely UK based, then there's certainly an argument for staying at home and checking out some of the incredible venues in cities across the country."

In February, Peel Holdings announced that it would be expanding its operations at the Trafford Centre after successfully applying to build a hotel with a 500-seat conference facility as part of its existing retail development.ADNFCR-2060-ID-19124491-ADNFCR
