Businesses need to embrace a measure of people's communication within the workplace as it is necessary for a productive office, according to a leading motivational expert.
"Lack of understanding and poor communication can lead to breakdowns in team relationships creating a counterproductive working environment," said James McCarthy, the chief executive officer of Think Feel Know Coaching.
He explained that team building conferences should be established to see if people respond in one of three ways: Think, Feel or Know.
The ethos is that thinkers like to receive data, absorb the details and go about the task in a "methodical and logical way", using all the facts before acting on them.
However, feelers consider other people's positions before making decisions, empathising with others by remaining sensitive to their moods.
Finally, knowers "make decisions quickly and based on gut instinct", making them "straight down the line".
Taking an approach like this to the workplace can pay dividends, according to Mr McCarthy.
This week, Ruth Spellman, the chief executive of the Chartered Management Institute said the UK invests less in its managers than other global competitors and it shows, meaning that corporate events management could be handy for improving this situation.
