Liverpool venue to host upcoming corporate games

Date: 29/07/2009

Liverpool City Council is proud to announce that it will be hosting a team building corporate event of a completely different kind in a few months time.

The Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool will be the venue of choice for the 17th UK Corporate Games in 2010 and will see some of the biggest organisations in the country attending, including Asda, Fujitsu, HSBC and the Cooperative.

Peter Mearns, executive director of marketing and communications at the Northwest Regional Development Agency, the main sponsor of the event, said that Liverpool demonstrates its world-class facilities and experience enough to host successful major sporting events such as the UK Corporate Games.

He continued: "This is a huge coup for Liverpool which will generate millions of pounds for the local and regional economy. It also gives businesses the ideal opportunity to boost staff morale and promote a healthier, fitter workforce."

Billed as the "ultimate mix of sport, business and tourism," the UK Corporate Games will include events such as rugby sevens, football, basketball and table tennis.
