Date: 19/03/2010
More people may be heading to Liverpool to host a live brand experience or team building exercise after it was suggested in a new report that the Capital of Culture status of 2008 has sustained a positive image for the city.
Called Impacts 08 - the Liverpool Model, the study was commissioned by Liverpool City Council and addressed the long-term effects of the city's year as European Capital of Culture.
Dr Beatriz Garcia, a social scientist from University of Liverpool, said that people had the common misconception that social deprivation was part of the city's fabric, though increased exposure of architecture proved otherwise.
She said: "The city has undergone a remarkable image renaissance locally, nationally and internationally.
"The European Capital of Culture, however, presented a richer picture of Liverpool as a contemporary, multi-faceted city."
Liverpool's Arena and Convention Centre it hosting the 2010 British Dental Conference and Exhibition this week, proving that huge team building conferences are quite commonplace in the city.
