Live brand experience to help Selfridges launch Christmas

The London branch of Selfridges is to begin celebrating Christmas earlier than ever this year thanks to a live brand experience.

On August 2nd, the store will begin stocking its festive items, with a live brand experience helping to alert people to the news stock on offer in 2010, including baubles which can be individually painted by the buyer.

Geraldine James, Selfridges Christmas shop's buying manager, said that the festive period is starting earlier with every passing year, with 2010's record-breaking start a full 145 days before December 25th.

"I can see a time when we offer a capsule Christmas collection throughout the year. We are famous globally for our Christmas decorations and our signature Selfridges bauble can be found on trees from Miami to Manchester, via Montego Bay," she said.

Meanwhile, a major live brand experience event will be held in London's Trafalgar Square this September to promote the huge array of Malaysian food available in the capital, as Malaysia Night takes the form of a Pasar Malam - or night market.
