Live brand experience is 'more important than ever'

Date: 17/06/2009

When it comes to selling a product, the personal touch is by far the best option for companies in the recession, according to an expert in corporate events.

Marlene Cunningham, a director for Eventrix Scotland, explained there is a noticeable increase in the number of businesses looking to break market boundaries and to do this, they must be proactive and realise that a simple advert does not appeal to the consumer as much as it used to.

She explained: "I think that [there has been a] change of mindset within companies, they realise that they have to get out there and meet their customers face to face.

"It's a great power to actually meet them for selling face to face."

Ms Cunningham also highlighted the strengths of using the Royal Highland Centre as a base of operations for events organisers working in Scotland, emphasising the ease of travel for many companies north of the border as 60 per cent of attendees are within an hour's drive of the venue.

The Royal Highland Centre is approximately eight miles west of Edinburgh city centre and next to Edinburgh International Airport.ADNFCR-2060-ID-19212756-ADNFCR
