Live brand experience: May Fair Hotel becomes part of film festival experience

Date: 12/10/2011

The May Fair Hotel is to transform into a movie theatre, complete with mini cinema screens in its windows as part of its brand experience for the London Film Festival.

Screens will be installed in the imposing Edwardian facade, midnight showings will be held and guests will be handed complimentary gourmet popcorn in flavours such as goat's cheese and black pepper, as well as Hollywood style cocktails.

Once owned by the Danziger Brothers, who founded the Elstree Studios, the May Fair has always been connected with the film industry since the 1950s.

Its 201-seat screening room where hotel guests will be invited to watch a cult classic movie on the night of October 21st, is just one of the spaces the hotel offers for conferences and events.

Sandra Hebron, artistic director of the festival, said: "Once again we will have a choice of excellent spaces for parties, first class suites for our VIPs and access to one of London’s largest and best-equipped private cinemas."
