Leaders must stay motivated 'by relieving personal stress'
Date: 14/01/2009
One of the main ways for leaders in business to stay motivated and not get bogged down by pressure is to relieve personal stress on a regular basis, according to an employment expert.
Managing director of Stark Brooks Sally Tuomi said that whatever the size of the business, most people face the same pressures, with managers needing to be very self-aware about their personal drive in the workplace when facing up to the strain and tension a job can provide.
She continued: "The most effective managers are the ones who realise that if it is a case of going to the gym to relieve the pressure, then to be sure that they do that."
Ms Tuomi added that if holidays were more the necessary thing, they should be taken providing the work was done as an extra personal incentive.
The Health and Safety Executive recommends that people promote positive communication and behaviour in the workplace to cut down on stress.
