Leaders 'will profit from motivation'

Motivating employees is the best way to get the most out of someone's business, according to a leadership expert.

Ken Blanchard, also known as the One Minute Manager, spoke of how managers were the most important asset to a company so long as they were able to harness staff incentives and other methods for motivating employees, Training Zone revealed.

Speaking to the UK news provider, Mr Blanchard continued: "Profit is the applause you get for taking care of your customers and creating a motivating environment for your people.

"If you don't treat your people right, they will not take care of your customers."

He noted that without direction, rules and regulations would deteriorate into bureaucracy and make a company stagnate.

Ultimately, he emphasised that people are the greatest asset to a business and that the current climate should make managers more open and not insular with their employees.
