Job satisfaction is more important than fiscal reward and recognition to many female workers, it has been claimed.
According to Change to Succeed, doing work that is enjoyable is more motivating than money in many situations.
Piya Khanna, founder and executive coach and change consultant at Change to Succeed, said that this is a paradigm shift from worker sentiment in the 50s and 60s when job satisfaction featured low down many people's list of employment priorities.
She claimed that 'success' in the workplace had been dramatically redefined and, as a result, so have the things that businesses can use to boost employee motivation and staff engagement.
"In our modern world, job security is much lower and people view success as more than just money, which impacts on the goals that this generation has in terms of life, work and success," she noted.
However, according to a new poll by commercial recruiter Crone Corkill, bonuses and reward and recognition incentives were a deciding factor when it came to accepting a job offer.
