Companies thinking of a goal to aim for when carrying out a team building exercise to improve performance and enhance employee motivation should look towards Investors in People, it is said.
According to Fresh Business Thinking, a good way to achieve the task of motivating employees is to show a commitment to receiving this accolade as otherwise, staff are not aware of their employer's intentions and can feel both left out and demotivated.
The advice resource continued: "The achievement of the Investors in People standard is a signal to potential employees that the company takes its commitment to its people seriously."
It was added that the process in itself is a "tremendously useful business tool for companies".
Fresh Business Thinking also asserted that the open culture of communication, feedback and trust is always necessary in improving the mood and morale of a workplace.
Investors in People was formed in 1993 and was initially administered through the Department for Education and Employment before becoming a non-profit organisation in its own right.
