Incentive programs need 'guidelines' to improve productivity

Date: 07/01/2009

Incentive programme expert Lily Morgan has highlighted a number of essential pointers that employers should follow if they are to achieve the desired impact on their company.

As a business management writer for Isnare, Ms Morgan said that optional encouragement schemes such as performance-related pay can galvanise a person's efforts and benefit the company at the same time, with other ideas as "time off certificates" also making employees go that extra mile.

She continued: "Remember that incentive programmes, over and above providing material benefits to the employee, also act as a win-win status."

Ms Morgan added that communication with workers was key when doing this and stated: "Take the time to announce the incentives along with expectations and deliverables."

She said managers need to celebrate and announce any workers who meet the milestones that are set as it shows the employee recognition needed to motivate the company.

Other perks for employees recommended by the government's Business Link service include gifts on events such as birthdays as well as health benefits.ADNFCR-2060-ID-18960288-ADNFCR
