To truly get the most out of a team building conference or activity, corporate events management companies must look to making people laugh, it has been said.
Bryan Burns, the chief edu-tainment officer at Kelowna-based Corporate Play People, told the Canadian Press that workers must have fun in their job, otherwise they will get little return from activities they engage in to learn more about their fellow employees.
He asserted: "Anything that gets people working as a team and having a laugh is good.
"After having that introduction to fun hopefully they can go back to the workplace and do a good job, but also inject some humour into it and have a good time with their co-workers."
Last month, this notion was backed up by Patrick Lencioni, the author of Three Signs of a Miserable Job, who indicated that a lack of incentives and recognition, or measurement of progress, can contribute to creating an unhappy employee, meaning businesses must do the opposite.
