Human resources managers 'need more support'
Date: 26/01/2009
A recent study has highlighted the need for team building after it was discovered that 63 per cent of human resources managers do not believe they have the training or support in their roles.
The threat of recession was the main theme in recent research carried out by LearnHR, which found that bosses needed to do better in motivating employees in leadership roles after one in ten found the relationship with their superior to be "poor".
Christine Tebbutt, highlighting the necessity of team building training in the current climate, said that without such measures as company events in place, many will not be able to run their company through the financial crisis and could run into mistakes and legal trouble as a result.
She continued: "It is imperative they receive the right support and training to work effectively and to deliver the various and pressing needs of their employers. For too many, this is lacking."
Ezekiel Haynes, an expert in team building, said that motivation is something a business cannot get enough of, adding that the recession stressed the importance of keeping spirits high in the workplace.
