Employees working in human resources are the "yeast" of any organisation, with managers having to handle them properly to bring about growth and culture in a company, it has been stated.
Rogers Odima of Business Daily spoke of how many bosses are incapable of capitalising on this asset, particularly through a lack of an incentive scheme or reward and recognition in the company.
He said that those managers who are too casual about the skills and competence of employees will end up struggling in their motivation of employees as they will not be able to spot opportunities for training and upgrading skills.
Mr Odima emphasised that this can lead to poor performance from workers as they will be unable to "instil discipline" and recognise the right behaviour.
Last week, the Financial Gazette stated that employee motivation schemes will fail unless the manager leads by example, meaning that morale must work on all levels to succeed.
