Marking special events such as St Patrick's Day and Mothering Sunday can aid firms in motivating employees, one human resources expert suggests.
Traditions are important in companies as well as families and establishing celebrations for seasonal holidays can build positive morale, explains Susan Heathfield in an article for About.com.
By doing something special for a day, firms can boost their efforts for motivating employees and also incorporate team building activities, she suggests.
This will result in a more productive team - good news for business success, Ms Heathfield continues.
For Easter she suggests an egg hunt, while patriotic celebrations such as St George's Day on April 23rd could be marked with a traditional English meal for the whole staff.
The expert advises having a community or activity committee in place to organise such events, something which could also improve morale and motivation among the workers who volunteer.
