Higher engagement 'brought about by effective change'
Date: 03/11/2009
A recent survey has uncovered the need for change to be managed better with the inclusion of employees through team building conferences.
Recruiter revealed that a new Right Management survey underlined how only 43 per cent of UK employees believe any company evolution is handled well by their superiors.
However, where change is comfortably orchestrated, employees are ten times more engaged, it was added, with 60 per cent returning positive feedback as opposed to just six per cent.
Jayne Carrington, the managing director of Right Management, told the online publication that these results show how perceptions of change can drive the level of engaging employees, adding that there are a lot of changes in UK workplaces, whether they are restructurings, job moves or new bosses.
She continued: "Managers need to genuinely involve their people in the change process so they can adapt more easily, embrace change and enable their organisation to evolve over the long-term.
"This will also mean they are more agile and ready for growth for the upturn."
According to F John Reh of About.com, change can be natural and good but the reactions of other people can be unpredictable and irrational, meaning bosses must respond early to these issues.
