Healthy staff 'equals happy staff'

Date: 26/08/2009

There are a number of things which organisations should aim for in the current climate, particularly staff health as this positively impacts on motivation, it has been said.

In an interview with This is Money, Rupert Emson, who co-founded recruitment firm Vero Screening in Hove, explained that while his organisation is unable to deliver benefits such as free healthcare, incentives and recognition take the form of healthy activities.

He described how communal pushbikes, office runs and free fruit bowls are all available options to workers at the organisation, while team building corporate events in the form of staff drinks are also organised on Fridays - a day he ensures that everyone gets out at 4pm.

Mr Emson told the news resource: "Since setting up on our own, our productivity is up 100 per cent. Last year, our turnover grew by 100 per cent and is on target to rise 85 per cent this year. To date, we have not lost a single client."

Those looking for ideas in terms of incentives and recognition in future months prior to consulting their corporate events management company of choice may want to head to the Employee Benefits Live free event at the Business Design Centre in London from September 29th to 30th.ADNFCR-2060-ID-19332088-ADNFCR
