The creation of more green jobs in the UK is vital if support for environmental issues is to increase, according to business and technology experts at Logica.
It made comments after Labour pledged to create 400,000 new green jobs by 2015. The Liberal Democrats added that they will create green employment by removing barriers to European trade, while the Tories promised to "unleash the power of green enterprise".
Tony Rooke, head of sustainability and environment for Logica, explained that such policies can create a lot of good things for businesses in the UK, perhaps leading to improved morale.
"I think one key way of making [sustainability] more popular is to actually make more jobs have a component of, or be related to, the sustainability industry," he said.
Mr Rooke added that if a business is keen to committing to an ecologically-aware campaign, it "actually really raises it up on your mental panorama" and must be chased.
Many commentators in the past have noted that live brand experiences benefit from green initiatives, as it raises a company profile in the buyer's mind.
