Green business ideas raised in Liverpool

Date: 28/04/2009

The importance of running an energy-efficient company in the current economic climate and beyond is being emphasised through a week of events for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).

European SME Week is running between May 6th and 14th, with Liverpool city council placing particular emphasis on the need for sustainability in the modern world, particularly in light of savings in both the long and short term.

The Green Business Day event will be held on Wednesday May 7th in a marquee at Chavasse Park, emphasising how companies can re-adjust environmental priorities when it comes to hosting a corporate hospitality event with an events organiser.

Executive member for the environment councillor Berni Turner said of the occasion: "Many local businesses have got involved in Liverpool's Year of the Environment and I would hope that many others would take this opportunity to find out about green businesses."

Liverpool city council's initiatives have been praised on an international scale this week, with the Liverpool One development attracting a lot of commendations by the International Centre of Shopping Centres' Conference in Barcelona.ADNFCR-2060-ID-19143552-ADNFCR
