Great British Beer Festival posts increase in numbers

Date: 18/08/2009

More people than ever before have turned up to the most recent Great British Beer Festival this month, it has been reported.

Visitor numbers have markedly jumped by 7.7 per cent, according to Event Magazine, with Earls Court being the host for the fourth year in a row after it parted ways with its original location at Olympia.

Earls Court became a huge pub with over 500 beers on offer to those wanting a truly great time, with a number of live brand experiences on offer from breweries across the country.

Marc Holmes, the director of national festivals for Camra, told Event Magazine: "Ever-increasing consumer interest in real ale, combined with advertising in London publications, digital radio stations and supplements in national newspapers, helped raise the awareness of the festival to new levels this year."

Camra has already named its dates for next year's event, taking place at Earls Court from August 3rd to 7th 2010.
