Government discusses future of events industry
Date: 03/08/2010
The British government has discussed the future of the corporate events management industry with the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP).
John Penrose, the minister for tourism, has made good on a promise to hold talks with the organisation, which represents businesses operating in the corporate events management sector.
The talks were first considered during the last government's tenure and Penrose finally met with BVEP chairman Michael Hirst yesterday (August 2nd), reports Event magazine.
Before the talks, Hirst told the news provider he hoped that the government would introduce plans to strengthen the corporate events sector.
"As an industry it is crucial that we strike up meaningful relationships with senior government ministers and their officials as they set about the task of implementing the government’s priorities and new policies," Hirst claimed.
He added that further meetings, with other ministers, would be conducted before the end of the year, giving the industry an excellent opportunity to "put forward its case".
Recently, Stock Market Review claimed that professional corporate events management services will make a business's corporate conferences stand out from the crowd.
