Employers want to make their jobs more supportive and attractive for their employees yet many lack direction in achieving this measure, according to a new report.
Research carried out by the Work Foundation discovered that more employers see decent quality jobs and commercial/organisational success as "mutually supporting goals" and no longer conflicting issues.
It noted that guidance was needed for employee desires such as being valued and appreciated, decent working conditions, job satisfaction, autonomy, morale and teamwork and staff development - many facets which could be offered by corporate events management.
Managing director of the Work Foundation Stephen Bevan said the government must do its bit to help the economy recover by extending assistance.
"Employers should be encouraged to share best practice through their networks and large organisations should promote good work through their supply chains as routes to higher productivity and more consistent performance," he added.
This year, the Work Foundation is celebrating the 25th anniversary of receiving the Royal Charter.
